We are looking for a full-time, permanent Senior Software Engineer to start as soon as possible. We live remote-first, but you have the freedom to choose whether you want to work hybrid or completely on-site due to your proximity to one of our locations.


As our new Senior Software Engineer, you will have a direct impact on Contabo’s future as you develop sound technical solutions to maintain and enhance our current systems, not only that, but also implementing new products for our customers alongside your team. This will all be performed as part of a diverse, international, cross functional team within an agile work environment.

You will play an important and active role in the maintenance and further development of our architecture and you'll hold the responsibility for ensuring the code's quality aligns with our architecture. Ultimately, you'll be the go-to person for providing technical support to your fellow developers.

As we always love to listen to your ideas and have an open-door policy, we strongly encourage you to come up with your ideas and witness their implementation firsthand. With all that in mind you should have an open mind to trying new tools, frameworks and integrating them into our daily work if the added value is seen.

What convinces us

Your personality, paired with:

• several years of experience in software development
• Proficiency with a programing language such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Java 
• Understanding and ability to define APIs and Knowledge in Frontend and Backend architectures
• Experience with frameworks such as NestJS, Spring boot, Django, Svelte, React, Angular etc.
• Knowledge in working with Docker and Kubernetes as well as with Event based systems and SQL databases
• the ability to write testable code and to write automated tests
